Seonjoon "SJ" Young

SJ is a high school English teacher in the Boulder area, with a focus on writing instruction and differentiated reading strategies. In addition to teaching English, SJ has tutored students for over five years, with a particular focus on test preparation, Algebra, Geometry, and humanities tutoring.

One of her hallmarks as a tutor is the ability to blend content-specific knowledge with executive functioning coaching to help students gain independence and confidence as learners through the tutoring process.

Originally from the Denver area, SJ received her BA in English Literature from Yale University and her Masters in East Asian Buddhist History and Practice from Harvard Divinity School. She now lives with her husband in Erie, Colorado.
