Julie Zats

With 35 years of teaching experience, Julie has taught grades 1-6 in all subjects, gifted education in grades K-6, and special education in grades 2-4. Her experience spans both Colorado and Minnesota, giving her a deep understanding of the diverse educational needs and abilities of students from different regions. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and an endorsement in Gifted Education. Additionally, she's trained as a math specialist, in the LETRS Reading program, and in STEM-Lego Robotics.

These qualifications have equipped her with a wide range of teaching strategies to ensure effective and engaging learning experiences. In her online teaching, she aims to make learning enjoyable and effective by incorporating interactive games, a reward system, and a light sense of humor. Julie believes that positive feedback and a genuine interest in her students’ ideas are key to building their confidence. She strives to personalize each lesson by connecting the content to her students’ interests.

Outside of teaching, Julie enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, Pilates, and walking on the beach. These interests influence her teaching style, and she loves sharing them with her students, hoping they will share theirs as well! She's looking forward to working with any students needing support and in helping them succeed in their academic journey, making learning a fun and memorable experience together!
